Location

The Avon Tyrrell Estate is situated on the south-west edge of the New Forest less than two hours by car from London. It extends from the River Avon Valley in the west to Thorney Hill, adjacent to the New Forest in the east. Approximately one third of the Estate lies within the boundaries of the New Forest National Park, the remainder straddles the Hampshire/Dorset border.

The Estate includes an extensive area of water meadows adjoining the River Avon and a number of sites of special scientific interest.  The water meadows are also designated a RAMSAR site and are recognised as of international importance for over-wintering wild fowl. Part of the Estate is farmed in hand, the balance is let mainly to long-standing local farming families. Both commercial and amenity woodlands lie within the boundaries of the Estate. Residential properties include a range of two to five bedroom properties. The New Queen Inn, Avon is also Estate owned.

The beaches of Bournemouth and Christchurch are close as well as access to the beautiful Isle of Purbeck via the chain ferry in Sandbanks. The Isle of Wight is easily accessible from Lymington by ferry to Yarmouth. The New Forest is the perfect place for walkers, cyclists and riders and ideal for those who wish to escape a busy life and relax among wonderful views and the famous New Forest ponies.
