Activities

Avon Tyrrell is ideally situated for both the coast and the New Forest. Activities available in the area include riding, sailing, fishing, cycling, walking and paddle boarding. Water sports and activities can be found particularly in Christchurch harbour, Mudeford, Lymington and Beaulieu. Coastal walking is most spectacular by ferry from Sandbanks across Poole Harbour on the Purbecks but can also be found close at hand around Highcliffe Castle.  Riding schools abound and hacks across the forest can be arranged, as can the hire of bicycles.

Fishing
Course and salmon fishing are available on the Avon by arrangement.
Avon Tyrrell Activity Centre
Avon Tyrrell, the former home of the "Manners family", now houses two charities. UK Youth occupies the house and more information about the activities on offer can be found at www.avontyrrell.org.uk.  The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy uses part of the grounds and more information about this charity can be found at www.fortune.ac.uk.
